Hello Kitty Birthday Invitations

Hi, everyone!

My sister asked me to make a birthday invitation for her niece, who's turning 10.  She loves Hello Kitty and will have a Hello Kitty-themed birthday party.

I saw this invitation in Baraka's blog, and I thought this would be perfect.  I changed the colors slightly.  Hello Kitty is adhered to the red band around the card with foam tape.  The red band slides down so that the card can be opened.  The details of the party will be inside.

Pink cardstock (The Paper Company)
White cardstock (The Paper Company)
Red cardstock (The Paper Company)
Black cardstock (The Paper Company)
Cricut cartridge used:  Hello Kitty Greetings
 Cuttlebug folder used:  D'vine Swirls
I also made a coordinating envelope for the invitation:

Pink cardstock (The Paper Company)
Cuttlebug folder used to emboss flap of envelope (Birthday Jelly)

I hope my sister's niece likes her invitation!

Four Seasons Note Cards

Hello, everyone!  This is the CricutAddict's sister, and this is my first post on this blog.  I am new to blogging, and new to crafting, but my sister's addiction is contagious, so here I am.

It's been snowing hard here the whole weekend, which reminds me that winter is still here.  And here I was, already ready for spring!  I know the spring, summer, and fall will be here soon enough.

In the meantime, here are my note cards (3 inches x3 inches):

White card stock is from Walmart (Georgia-Pacific).
Colored card stock is from Michael's or Jo-ann.
Background cardstock is from Hobby Lobby and DCWV.
Stamp set is from Stampin' Up (Season by Season).
Cricut cartridges used:
Spring note card - Forever Young
Autumn note card - Forever Young
Winter note card - Winter Woodland
Summer note card - Life's a Beach

Here's a closer look at them:

I used flowers for the four seasons because I wanted to explore what are available in the Cricut cartridges.  You can easily substitute a snow flake, flower, sun, and a leaf for the ones I used to make note cards for different seasons.

Have a good day!

Hello and Goodbye!

I joined Stampin' Up as a demonstrator, and as such, I would like to use Stampin' Up products.  I thought long and hard about this decision, because I don't want to shut down this blog.  I finally came up with the perfect solution.  My very talented sister will be taking over this blog for me.

Aside from the change in blog authors, the blog will more or less stay the same, unless she would like to change things up a bit (and truthfully, I won't mind if she does -- she is very creative and artistic!).

I have started a new blog for Stampin' Up, and please drop by and say hi to me there.

So, it's goodbye for now for me (for this blog), and please say "hello" to my sister!

Thanks everyone!

Valentine Waterfall Card

Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and I wanted to get a head start on Valentine cards.  This is a card I made for my husband, and for this card, I made a waterfall card.  I viewed a couple of YouTube videos on how to make waterfall cards, because I've never made one before. :p

The black card base is from The Paper Company (cut at 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches).
The red polka dot mat is from The Paper Studio (cut at 5 1/4 x 4 inches).
The white paper is from Georgia Pacific (cut at 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 inches).
The black cardstock to mat the white squares is from The Paper Company (cut at 2 x 2 inches).
The black strip is from The Paper Company (cut at 1 x 4 1/4 inches).
The red strip to hold the waterfall is from The Paper Company (cut at 2 x 9 inches).
The black circle is cut with an EK Success 1 3/8 circle punch.
The brads are from Hobby Lobby.

This heart stamp is from Inkadinkado's Hearts stamp set.
Ink is Memento Lady Bug.

Here is how the card looks when the tab is pulled.

The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper.

The pull tab is made with black eyelet (Making Memories), set with the Big Bite.
Ribbon is from Michael's.

I hope my husband likes this card!

P. S.  It was my first time to use the Big Bite, and I had a little trouble following the directions.  Watching this video helped.

Inkadinkado Stackable Ink Pads

Around a year ago, I went on a buying spree for craft supplies, and picked up all of the Inkadinkado Stackable Ink Pads that were available at my local Jo-ann's.  I aready had Mementos and Colorbox pads, but the Inkadinkado's colors were so pretty on the pads (you could see through the container) that I just could not resist.

I haven't used them that much, but here are a few of the pads a year later.

The glue holding the pads came off, an the pads lifted off the containers.  The pads had also gotten really stiff, and are now unfortunately unusable.  I feel really sad and disappointed on these pads.  I had hoped for much better quality. :(

Unisex Baby Cards

Continuing on with the theme of baby cards, I decided to make two more baby cards, this time more gender-neutral/unisex compared to the previous ones.  I just remembered that when my sister-in-law was pregnant, she and her husband decided to wait until the baby arrives to find out the gender.

Here are two more baby cards:

Yellow and light purple cardstock are from The Paper Company.
Yellow checkered paper is from The Paper Studio.
The onesie was cut from Cricut New Arrival cartridge.
The sun stamp is from Hero Arts.
The "New Baby" stamp is from Stampin' Up Fundamental Phrases.
Inks are Memento Cantaloupe and Grape Jelly.
Ribbon is from Michael's.

Here is the other card:

The light green card stock is from The Paper Studio.
The checkered paper is from The Paper Company.
The ducky safety pin is from Cricut's Baby Steps cartridge.
The ribbon on the safety pin is from Michael's.
The sentiment is from Stampin' Up Define Your Life.
The ink is Memento Cottage Ivy.
The label is from an EK Success punch.

I can't wait for the baby showers, and for the babies' arrival!

Baby Cards

I have a huge extended family, and it looks like more are on the way.  My cousin's wife is pregnant with their second baby, and then another cousin is pregnant, too.  We don't know the gender of the babies yet, so I made two baby cards, one for each gender, to be safe.

These can be used for baby shower invitations, or for baby shower cards, or cards to give to the moms when the babies arrive.

Here is the card for a baby girl:

Paper is from The Paper Company
White cardstock is from Georgia Pacific (Walmart)
Ribbon is from AC Moore/Michaels
Stamp is from Stampology, and is one of those stamps that you can layer (awesome!)
Inks are Memento London Fog, Angel Pink, Tuxedo Black, and Rich Cocoa
Background paper is embossed with Cuttlebug Seeing Spots embossing folder
Punch used is Fiskars Threading Water
Circle and scallop circle are cut using Mini Monograms
Brads are from Hobby Lobby

And here is the card for a baby boy:

Paper is from The Paper Company
White cardstock is from Georgia Pacific (Walmart)
Ribbon is from AC Moore/Michaels
Stamp is from Stampology, and is one of those stamps that you can layer (awesome!)
Inks are Memento London Fog, Summer Sky, Tuxedo Black, and Rich Cocoa
Background paper is embossed with Cuttlebug Spots and Dots embossing folder
Punch used is Fiskars Threading Water
Circle and scallop circle are cut using Mini Monograms
Brads are from Hobby Lobby

I really loved how the cards turned out, and I'm super excited for the babies coming to our family.  I can't wait to use these cards!

Card for a Cat Lover

My sister's birthday is coming up, and I made her a card with cats.  She loves cats, and owns a few of them.  When I saw this stamp set from AC Moore, I knew this would be perfect for her birthday card.

Paper is from The Paper Company
Stamps are from Inkadinkado.
Black ink is Memento's Tuxedo Black.
Markers used to color are Marvy Matchables
Background is embossed with Cuttlebug Traffic Jam embossing folder

I took the photo without the flash, which makes the card look a little washed out, unfortunately.  It looks much better in real life.

I hope my sister likes it.  I will mail it out on Monday. :)
